The stepdaughter, Anna, is home alone when her stepfather, Michael, walks in unexpectedly. She's supposed to be studying for her exams but has been surreptitiously scrolling through social media. Startled by his sudden appearance, she drops her phone, revealing her activity. Michael, visibly upset, demands to know why Anna can't follow the house rules: no phones during study hours. Anna tries to justify herself, saying she's stressed about her exams, but Michael cuts her off, accusing her of disrespecting him and her mother by not obeying their rules.In an exasperated rage, Michael grabs Anna's phone forcefully and throws it across the room. Stunned by his violent outburst, Anna begins to cry uncontrollably. Michael, filled with remorse for his actions, goes to comfort Michael, filled with remorse for his actions, goes to comfort his sobbing wife who had just discovered the truth about his infidelity.
